    Letter dated 1814, London, fully hallmarked, possibly by William Bennett, with gadrooned rim, scroll handle, and three hooved feet, engraved with a crest, 5"h x 8"l x 4.5"w, approx. 19.23ozt

    Leonard D. Hamilton studied at Balliol College, Oxford, and Trinity College, Cambridge, before moving to the US in 1949. He was a brilliant researcher who played an important role in the discovery of the structure of DNA. A keen art collector, Dr. Hamilton owned works by the likes of Whistler, Matisse, Picasso and Candido Portinari.
